Matthew Lloyd is a Birmingham-based professional artist specializing in detailed animal art and bespoke pet portraits.

A Royal Navy veteran who served for 15 years, Matthew has drawn all his life, dedicating the past two decades to mastering his craft. Even while serving, drawing provided both a creative outlet and a source of balance. Today, he works from his Birmingham studio, creating lifelike, custom portraits for clients across the UK and internationally.

Inspired by his two Shih Tzus, Chester and Ozzy, Matthew deeply understands the profound bond people share with their pets—a connection he aims to capture in every piece. His work has earned a loyal global following, including a dedicated collector with a private gallery of his work in Cornwall. He was also commissioned to design the official logo for the Weimaraner Club of Great Britain and remains a proud supporter of the Birmingham Dogs Home.
