Terence Clarke

Terence Clarke is a contemporary landscape, still life, and portrait artist celebrated for his vivid palette, strong draftsmanship, and distinctive flattened perspective. After early training in his native Lancashire, Clarke earned his MA in Painting from the Royal College of Art in 1979, beginning a lifelong dedication to the creative power of colour. His work has since been exhibited widely across the UK and is held in prestigious public collections, including the Contemporary Art Society.

Strongly influenced by Matisse, Cézanne, and the Scottish Colourists, Clarke’s work balances meticulous observation with an intense expression of light—often imparting a warm, Mediterranean feel to his subjects.
