Creative Dezigns
Traditional techniques and styles are used to create highly original designs. The nickel free jewellery is cut from brass and copper sheets and either silver plated or brazed with torches to produce the intrinsic colours. A lacquer is applied to protect from discolouration.
Some of the designer-makers are situated in the rolling hills of Mpumalanga on the borders of the Kruger National Park and the designs and use of earthy colours are drawn from the culture of the Ndebele tribe.
The brass jewellery is made in the Eastern Cape in the heartland of the Xhozas and inspiration for designs is derived from local tradition and the beautiful surrounding landscape. Every design is unique, exemplifying the best in traditional African techniques to create beautiful pieces of jewellery that will remain timeless.
