Claire Lovell was born in 1971 in Caldicot, Monmouthshire where she grew up.
She is a self-taught artist that paints with oils - utilising the brush to transmit the energy and passion she feels for the natural world. She loves big, open, light spaces and big areas of colour. Claire enjoys painting coastal regions - the sea in particular with all its drama, changing light and movement.
Artist’s statement “I wish to celebrate in paint, a sense of being alive, my energy, a freshness… and hope to encourage others to feel inspired by the beauty of our lovely planet. Trying to interpret all this through paint is a continuous challenge, often frustrating, but when everything seems to be working with me, there is nothing like the feeling of applying paint to a board, moving it around and seeing something emerge which represents an image of what I had hoped to create.”
Claire is an established artist and exhibits in Galleries throughout the UK.
