Annie Waring

Annie Waring studied printed textile design at Middlesex Polytechnic in the early 80's. When she graduated, she began to design and hand paint her own ranges of bone china tableware working under her maiden name of Doherty. She sold her work in Liberty and Thomas Goode in London, Henri Bendel in New York and as far away as Japan and also designed exclusive ranges for Marks and Spencer among others.

In recent years Annie has returned to painting - the root of all her design work - and now concentrates predominantly on still life,  working in oils and occasionally watercolour. She likes to paint simple objects from her home and strives to capture their essence. Annie is particularly interested in light and reflection and ceramics often feature in her compositions.

Annie is Increasingly interested in the seasonal changes in her garden and the surrounding countryside  ( particularly the wild flowers) and this has now become the focus to her work.
