Sue Howells RWS
Sue Howells is a highly collectable, self-taught British watercolour artist, celebrated for her lively, witty and instantly recognisable scenes of everyday life. Since discovering painting in 1983, she has developed a unique, spontaneous style that has earned her national acclaim, with work shown in over 300 UK galleries.
Her paintings have appeared widely on screen — if you’ve watched Little Britain, EastEnders, My Family, The Vicar of Dibley, Demons, or the Helen Mirren film The Queen, you may well have spotted a Sue Howells piece.
A member of both the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists and, since 2016, the prestigious Royal Watercolour Society, Sue has received several honours including Best Selling Living Artist from the Fine Art Trade Guild. She continues to paint from her Birmingham studio and remains one of the UK’s best-loved contemporary watercolourists.
