Artist Statement:
"My recent paintings have been focused on woodland landscape and particularly the Lickeys and Peck wood near Alvechurch. I like to express the subtleties of tone and light and to suggest the beautiful atmosphere of peace one encounters in a woodland setting. My still life paintings are above all about a certain decorative quality and especially the inherent beauty of floral arrangements. I want to express a certain joyous feeling that flowers can evoke as well as the marvellous decorative effect a floral subject can give. I also paint portraits and enjoy working on commissioned portraits.
Paintings are above all an opportunity to contemplate the world through the understanding and vision of an artists viewpoint. Hopefully my pictures can give a little insight into the wonderful visual world that surrounds us and that we sometimes take for granted."
