Ian McPherson
Ian McPherson went on a Sculpting course some ten years ago and had continued to carve Stone ever since. He was a member of the Shapeshifters Sculpture Group that has had exhibitions in Winterbourne Gardens, RBSA and at Dame Catherine Arts. He had carved sandstone, slate, marble and alabaster, but generally prefers a type of limestone, such as Portland Stone or Ketton Stone.
His work was influenced by things that spark his interest, eg the Gherkin Building in London, a model animal or a detail on a fountain which he translates into stone sculptures. Some are quite lifelike whilst others are very stylised.
Sadly, due to his Passing, his Sculptures are now reunited with Ian's family
