Cristina Celestini
ARTIST STATAMENT:
“Born in Rome, Italy, I have been living in Birmingham, UK, for over 30 years. I work in coloured pencils in a figurative tradition with a great love for detail and a willingness to experiment with line and layering of colours. Taking inspiration from the study of traditional and modern masters, my work explores the fleeting nature of memory and the ever-changing perception of who we are and how we present ourselves to the outside world.
I am a Member of the Society of Graphic and Fine Arts, and I have completed a postgraduate course with the Royal School of Drawing. I regularly exhibit at the Mall Galleries and in other prestigious venues around the UK. My work is collected in public and private collections in the UK, Europe and the US, and I have taken part in Sky Portrait Artist of the year.”
