Anteater and Whippet! August 04 2017
PRINTMAKER Sam Marshall originates from the flat fens of Lincolnshire, where her father was a cabbage farmer. She originally trained at the Slade School of Fine Art and later completed an MA in Drawing at the Royal Drawing School. Having lived in London for over 20 years, she recently relocated to rural Northamptonshire where she now concentrates on her printmaking and running print workshops.
Anteaters are one of Sam's favourite animals and feature frequently in her work. In this print, Sam wanted the Anteater to take centre stage whilst courting a small whippet in the right hand corner. Sam had ambitious plans to make this print a very involved multi-colour linocut, but after many experiments, felt that one colour worked best!
